where to start coding

ok this is going to be a vague post. cause everyone has a different learning journey.

was watching chris sean, a self taught web dev on youtube yesterday.

he said, all companies want to hire the best web dev, but those are expensive, so what they are looking for is someone with the potential to be a good one.

also recommended learning react.js. yays because i also incline to learn that frontend framework. and include being able to recreate major companies websites as your portfolio, which i dont think i be able to.

his channel is not a learning content. its more social. where you get people dishing out the best ways to learn code in the comments section, in addition to the author's two cents. the author is not a poseur who flings around difficult vocab and acts cerebral.

its kinda of scary now, my life. im not applying jobs because i feel that i have nothing to offer, im learning a skill which i dont think i be able to attain deep skill in, and the industry is not a stable one. the only upside is that i am motivated to learn. actually im not planning to be a web dev. i just want to make some useful websites and content. one of my original thoughts was to create a website teaching psle level topics. for free.

angela duckworth defines grit as passion with perseverence. its no walk in the park to learn something, its not fun. you do it because for some reason, you really want to get that skill under your belt. i've wanted to do code since my uni senior year days. and spent more than a year wading through so many trashy info to finally focus on what i want. its been in my thoughts as i wade through mind numbing data entry in my (ex) day job.

i tell you, youtube is the best place to learn. google is the best.

library books suck cause those authors write guide books the way they write a fucking story book, like a damn manifesto with lots of useless bullshit baked in so you have to waste time cutting out the useless bits, which tend to be 99%. its really fatigue inducing.

so kudos to those kind web devs out there who release their stuff on youtube, great looking slides, and code along examples, to the point, well paced and tightly packed with *emphasise* relevant info.

fuck those authors for wasting peoples time. they commit a sin. time is precious.

i'll end off with my two cents. dont just watch. take handwritten notes. google what you dont know. go forums. dont watch or read crap content with no human readable english. type down or copy down some code.
